Anna Merrill Pritchett, a Montgomery native and passionate advocate, brings over 30 years of public affairs experience to her role at AARP Alabama. She strategically directs AARP Alabama’s government relations program. As a seasoned policy advisor, Anna’s commitment to social justice extends to her involvement in key initiatives such as protecting social security, advocating for affordable healthcare, supporting family caregivers, and combating elder abuse and fraud. Anna’s dedication to community service is evident in her roles on the Alabama Disability Leadership Coalition Board, the Supreme Court Commission on Adult Guardianships, the State Alzheimer’s Task Force, and the Alabama Elder Abuse Prevention Council.

Since joining the organization, Anna has worked to challenge outdated beliefs and spark new insights on health, wealth and self that allow people to adapt to the new realities of aging and personal fulfillment., Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama. Her leadership is instrumental in shaping Alabama’s advocacy landscape
